Magaluf, on the south-west coast in Calvià, is the British party capital — the Strip and BCM, the biggest club in Mallorca. Palma, the capital twenty minutes east, is the year-round, more grown-up option. Platja de Palma (El Arenal), just past the airport, is the German beach-bar mega-party that visitors call the "Ballermann". And the north, around Alcúdia and Pollença, keeps things calmer.
Most resort clubs run from late spring to October, peaking in July and August, while Palma's city venues stay open all year. Prices are noticeably lower than Ibiza, which is a big part of why Mallorca pulls millions of partygoers every summer. Magaluf — the Strip (south-west)
Mallorca's most famous party town, in Calvià about 20 minutes from Palma. The action centres on the Strip (Punta Ballena), a pedestrian run of bars that leads to BCM, the biggest club on the island. It's loud, cheap and built for big groups, with a young, mostly British crowd through the May-to-October season.
Palma — the capital (south-centre)
The island's year-round, more upmarket scene. Big clubs line the Paseo Marítimo, the Santa Catalina quarter does cocktails and pre-party drinks, and the old town around La Lonja hides wine and music bars. This is where locals go out, and where dressing up a little pays off.
Platja de Palma / El Arenal — the "Ballermann" (south, by the airport)
El Arenal and Platja de Palma are the German party heartland, known across Germany as the "Ballermann". The scene is open-air beer bars rather than DJ clubs — landmark venues like Megapark and Bierkönig, with party-pop along Schinkenstraße. A completely different night out from Magaluf, just a few kilometres apart.
Alcúdia & the north — quieter nights
The calmer alternative at the top of the island, around Port d'Alcúdia and Puerto Pollença: a mix of Irish pubs, beach bars and easygoing late spots that suit a relaxed evening more than an all-nighter. In the south-west near Magaluf, family resorts like Palma Nova and Santa Ponsa sit between that intensity and a quiet drink.
