S'embat

S'embat is a sunset session at AMOK in Palma. S'embat is the project of the Mallorcan DJ and producer who went from residencies in small island venues to headlining the large complex in southern Palma. He has been behind the decks for over fifteen years, starting in Palma’s underground scene before AMOK even existed. His sound has evolved from classic house to more percussive styles, yet his terrace sets still keep the melodic line that defines him. The open-air terrace at AMOK is the perfect setting for this afternoon: the sun sets over the artificial lake as the set builds from deep house with afro tints to more energetic cuts that herald the night. The dancefloor isn’t full yet, it’s filling up. The open acoustics of the complex let the bass rise without overwhelming, and people arrive in uneven groups, some straight from the beach, others from central Palma. This date falls outside AMOK’s usual weekend schedule, which typically runs from 23:00 to 06:00. The late-afternoon format is an exception in the club’s programming, designed to catch the crowd looking to end Monday with music without committing to long late-night hours.
