Almaq Rooftop (Es Princep)

At Carrer de Bala Roja, 1, 07001 Palma, inside the Hotel Es Princep, in the Calatrava neighborhood (not to be confused with Es Jonquet, which is at the opposite end of the old town). The terrace is on the top floor and can be accessed via the hotel elevator; both guests and external visitors enter through the same lobby. It is next to Parc de la Mar and a five-minute walk from the Cathedral.

From April to October, the terrace is open daily from 10:30 until sunset; in the evening, dinner service, cocktails, and live music or DJ sets continue late, according to the schedule. 18 years old; private hotel events maintain the same rule with ID. It is not a nightclub, so there is no strict young-age filter at the door, but the space maintains a distinctly adult atmosphere, and minors are not allowed on the rooftop without adult accompaniment during nighttime hours. Minors with family may visit during daytime hours with a drink.

Smart casual, not strictly enforced: shirt or blouse for the evening, dress, long pants, and closed shoes or elegant sandals. Tracksuits, pool flip-flops, and swimwear are not allowed. During the day, in the infinity pool area, swimwear and sarongs are accepted on sun loungers; after exiting the water, a shirt or cover-up is required in the bar area. The nighttime dress code is slightly stricter.

Almaq does not operate with box office tickets: access to the rooftop is free for external visitors, and drinks or food are paid at the bar or table. To dine or reserve a poolside area, advance booking is required via TheFork or by calling the hotel (+34 971 720 000). On foot, it's a five-minute walk from the Cathedral and ten minutes from Plaça Major; Palma's old town is very walkable. By taxi: 5-7 EUR from Sa Llotja, 8-10 EUR from Santa Catalina, 12-15 EUR from Paseo Marítimo, 20-25 EUR from the airport, 12-15 EUR from Cala Mayor or Portixol. Nearest public parking: Parc de la Mar (one minute). The EMT bus has several stops within a three-minute walk.

The infinity pool at Es Princep Rooftop is primarily for hotel guests, with sun loungers reserved for them. External visitors can enjoy the rooftop bar area with a view of the pool but cannot swim or reserve a sun lounger during regular hours. In summer, pool-day packages with included drinks are occasionally offered—these are published on the hotel's website and announced on partyisla.com when available.

They are two distinct spaces within the same hotel. Bala Roja is on the ground floor, a gourmet restaurant with a long menu offering contemporary Mediterranean cuisine, and requires advance reservations. Almaq is the rooftop terrace on the top floor, a cocktail bar and snack spot with lighter cuisine and continuous service. They can be combined as an aperitif upstairs + dinner downstairs, or vice versa, without leaving the building.
